EXPANDED CONNECTIVITY FOR NEW JVC AV RECEIVER LINE

WAYNE, NJ, June 22, 2006 - JVC's 2006 line of high-powered, low-profile digital AV receivers offers an expanded range of connectivity options, allowing consumers to make the most of today's wide selection of audio/video sources.

All five models in the 2006 JVC line of 7.1-channel AV receivers feature the company's USB audio input, which routes music from a PC or Mac through the receiver. Two models offer a wireless USB connection using the 2.4GHz band to transmit uncompressed signals over a range of approximately 100 feet. JVC has also expanded the number of models offering HDMI upconversion and now offers two receivers that offer control of JVC Sirius Satellite Radio "plug and play" tuners and XM Connect and Play™ compatibility.

HDMI, the digital interface that carries all audio and video signals through a single cable, is offered on a pair of JVC receivers - the RX-D702B and the RX-D411S/412B (S = silver, B = black). Both models offer dual HDMI inputs and an HDMI output with composite/S-Video/component signal up-conversion and DCDi® deinterlacing technology from Faroudja. Two other models - the RX-D301S/302B and RX-D211S/212B) - offer component output with composite/S-Video up-conversion.

"JVC's new line of receivers makes it simple for users to listen to audio from a range of sources," said Steve Howcott, General Manager, Consumer Audio, JVC Company of America. "And the breadth of the line means users can choose the receiver than best fits their particular listening preferences, whether through a PC, satellite radio or another more traditional source."

The new JVC RX-D411S/412B and RX-D211S/212B receivers are XM Satellite Radio-ready and so have the ability to access XM Satellite Radio through XM Connect and Play, an optional tuner that connects through a single cable - no power cord or audio cables are required. All XM Satellite Radio functions are operated through the receiver's remote and information is shown on the receiver's display.

In addition, with the included receiver remote control, users of the RX-D702B, RX-D411S/412B and RX-D211S/212B receivers can power on and off a JVC Sirius Satellite Radio "plug and play" tuner, change program category, change channels, store or tune channels, change text size and select highlighted information on display.

Another new feature for 2006 and available on the RX-D411S/412B is Precise Surround Set-Up. Using the included microphone, this feature confirms speaker connections, polarity, size and distance; and then analyses and optimizes the crossover frequency, delay time and levels for all the speakers and surround sound - all automatically. Most similar systems use a single, freestanding microphone that's placed on a chair or table nearly the likely listening position. But JVC uses a headset with a microphone contained in each earpiece to ensure that the settings reflect the precise position of the user.

JVC's entire receiver line features the company's Hybrid Feedback digital amplifier that is compact, highly efficient and able to generate high power output with low distortion levels. This technology uses two digital feedback loops to generate a precise signal and two analog feedback loops to ensure that the final signal is identical to the original. It is this digital amplifier technology that allows JVC's receivers have a significantly lower profile than traditional receivers.
